A true labor of love, our clients were an engaged couple who sought to build the wedding venue of their dreams on their lavender farm before their nuptials. Nestled in the rolling hills of Sonoma, Villa Vanto marries the rustic charm of California wine country with the sophistication of a world-class wedding and events space. The property includes a 5,000 square foot wedding and events barn, an event lawn, a natural amphitheater with a pond, a caretakers unit, a lavender farm, and an owner’s residence. Based on the site’s 360 degree views of the surrounding picturesque hillside, we placed enormous value on fenestration throughout the structure, bringing in gorgeous natural light and allowing shadows to play off of the mass timber materials.  We designed the barn to be clean, modern and elegant, choosing to reinforce vertical lines for an uplifting experience. The siding is all vertical cedar with a standing seam metal roof, oversized steel and glass doors and windows, and a white oak interior.
