Perched on a site that offers incredible views of the Roaring Fork Valley, we chose to blur the line between interior and exterior spaces to closely intertwine the home with its environment. Many of the architectural decisions, like the home’s position, window placement and detailing were driven by the desire to maximize the advantages of passive solar design. The home’s wine room was a particularly elegant solution to the problem of how to store and showcase the owner’s wine collection, in the context of the larger project.
